Valentine's Day Balloon Countdown
After the big holiday season and excitement is over, keep the kids going with an interactive countdown for Valentine’s Day.
This balloon popping countdown is fun to make and to interact with.
To make a Valentine’s Countdown you will need:
1 large cardboard box (or a spare piece of foam board like I used)
Paint
Balloons
Treats/notes
Adhesive (I found that adhesive dots worked best for me)
Decorate your box or foam board with paint. You may need several coats. To keep the cardboard from warping use weights on the ends while drying.
In the meantime, place wrapped candies, treats, love notes or jokes inside 14 balloons. Have one that has a big gift for Valentine’s Day (think tickets to a family movie night out or dinner at a favorite neighborhood restaurant).
Once your board is dry, blow up the balloons and attach them to the board using your adhesive. You can arrange the balloons in a heart pattern!
Add a kid decorated title and you’re ready to pop a balloon each day until the big day where they find movie tickets or a note about the fun date you’ll have on Valentine’s Day!
