Food Art: Perfect penguin snack
This cheese and cracker penguin snack is not only adorable, but it’s also a great Winter snack for kids. They are easy to make, and you can whip up a whole plate of these funny fellas in minutes. Your kids (and their friends!) are going to love them.
What You’ll Need
Ingredients:
Large round whole-wheat crackers
Small round whole-wheat crackers
Slices of mozzarella cheese
Black currants
Baby carrots
Tools:
Small heart cookie cutter
Kitchen knife (please supervise children if allowing them to slice)
How To Make It
1. Place a large round whole-wheat cracker on a plate. Use your heart cookie cutter to slice a piece of your mozzarella cheese into a heart shape. Place this heart in the center of your cracker.
2. Using your knife (supervise children), slice your baby carrot into thin slices. Slice 1 piece into a triangle and place this in the center of the heart for the penguin’s beak. Take 2 more thin slices and slice 2 tiny triangles out of the bottom of each piece. Place these on your cracker for the penguin’s feet.
3. Take 2 black currants and place them on your cracker for the penguin’s eyes.
4. Finally, use your knife and slice your small round whole-wheat crackers into quarters. Take 2 quarters and place 1 on each side of the penguin’s body.
