Kix Cereal Menorah Craft
Hannukah falls very close to the American holiday, Thanksgiving, this year. Make this fun and festive menorah from construction paper, a pipe cleaner and Kix cereal! A fun way to celebrate and learn about this holiday of lights.
To make this menorah you will need:
1 sheet of light blue construction paper
Menorah pattern
Yellow and orange tissue paper
1 white pipe cleaner
Pen
Scissors
White craft glue
Begin by placing the menorah pattern over the top of the blue construction paper. Use a pen to trace over the pattern, pressing firmly so as to leave indentations in the paper below. There is no need to trace the candles or flames, just the menorah itself.
Trace the pattern indents with white craft glue, adding Kix cereal to the glue as you go.
Cut pipe cleaner into 9 equal pieces (about 1 1/4″ each).
Glue the pipe cleaners on as the candles.
Cut tissue paper into squares. The yellow squares should be approximately 2-inches and the orange squares approximately 1 1/2-inches. Place the larger yellow square on top of the smaller orange square.
Place the end of a pen in the center of the two squares.
Twist the tissue paper around the end of the pen. Remove from the pen and flatten. Glue your “flames” to the tops of the candles.
Have a Happy Hannukah!
