Food Art: Sweet Little Kix Lovebugs
These sweet little Kix bugs are super simple to make, your kids could even make them themselves! They would be a great snack for your kids to pass around at school for Valentine’s day, or just to enjoy at home!
What You’ll Need
Ingredients (for 2 cups):
1 fresh strawberry
3 fresh blackberries
1 slice of mozzarella cheese
4 black currants
a large handful of Kix cereal
Tools:
Heart-printed cupcake liners (or other decorative liners)
A kitchen knife (please supervise children if allowing them to slice)
How to Make It
1. Place 2 cupcake liners on a plate and fill them 3/4’s of the way full with Kix cereal.
2. Slice 1 strawberry in half and place each half, cut side up, on top of the Kix cereal. Place a fresh blackberry in front of the strawberry slice for the head.
3. Grab your remaining blackberry and make a small slice to cut small circles off the fruit. Take these small blackberry pieces and place 6 on each bug.
4. Finally, cut your mozzarella cheese into 4 small circles. Place these circles on the bug for the eyes and add 2 black currants to finish it off.
