Food Art: Octopus Veggie Dip
This octopus veggie dip is a great way to encourage your kids to eat more vegetables. It’s really easy to make and it’s a great snack for kid’s parties and play dates. Your kids – and their friends – are going to love it!
What You’ll Need
Ingredients:
2 orange bell peppers
3 slices of carrot
1 small slice of red pepper
2 black olive slices
Ranch vegetable dip – or flavor of your choice
Blue food coloring
Tools:
A kitchen knife (please supervise children if allowing them to slice)
3 toothpicks
How To Make It
1. Mix a small amount of blue food coloring into your vegetable dip. Mix until you get a nice faint blue color. Spread the dip out on a plate in an even layer.
2. Slice the top off of one of the orange peppers and place this pepper, cut side down, in the middle of the veggie dip. Grab your remaining orange pepper and slice 8 thin pepper strips from it. Place these 8 slices of pepper around the large octopus bell pepper.
3. Take your small slice of red pepper and, using a toothpick, stick it on the large bell pepper for a smile. Follow the same steps with the black olive slices for the eyes.
4. Finally, take your carrot slices and cut out some tiny goldfish. Place these goldfish in the blue veggie dip sea.
