Baseball Clipboard for Coach Dad
Does your dad coach your little league baseball team? Or maybe he’s just a huge baseball fan and needs something fun and practical keep his paper in order. Either way, this baseball themed clipboard is a perfect gift for Father’s Day or his birthday!
You will need:
Clipboard
White and red Duct tape
Cutting mat and craft knife
SAFETY NOTE: Craft knives are sharp, so please be sure to have a grown up help you.
Cover the back of the clipboard with white duct tape.
Start near the metal clip when covering the front. Get around all the metal pieces first. Completely cover the front of the clipboard and fold excess pieces around to the back.
In order to make the curved lines for the “ball” design, make a sheet of red tape on your cutting mat by slightly overlapping about 6 or 7 strips so that they all stay together. Use your craft knife to cut a curved line out of the sheet.
Carefully remove the curved line from the cutting mat.
Attach the curved red tape to the white clipboard near the top. Create a second curved line at the opposite corner.
From the remaining red tape, cut thin strips, about 1/2-inch long each for the stitches.
Note for parents: The easiest way to lift the strips from the cutting mat is to use the point of the craft knife – make sure to do this step for your kids. Lift the edge, place your finger on the lifted edge to keep it from releasing and lift the tape off the mat completely.
With the strip still on the craft knife, set it down onto the white tape along the edge of the curved red tape line.
Continue adding red “stitches” until you’ve completed both curved lines.
