Cereal Box Straw Charms for Party Drinks
Crafting straw charms from a cereal box is a great way to dress up summer drinks. Decorate each charm differently and the charms can serve double duty at parties to mark cups so kids don’t share their germs. Grown-ups take note. You might want to make a few for you and your friends, too, so you don’t lose your drinks either.
Keep kids busy as you prepare for a party and let them contribute to the fun by painting and decorating the charms for all the straws.
Or, have kids decorate their own straw charms as a party activity.
To make cereal box straw charms
You will need:
Cereal box
Pencil
Small cookie cutters (optional)
Scissors
Non-toxic paints
Paint brushes
Hole punch
Straws
Cut out shapes, each about 2-inches across, from a cereal box. You can draw your own or trace cookie cutters.
Use non toxic paint, stickers, or whatever you like to paint and decorate your cut-outs.
Punch a hole at one end. Slip the straw in the hole. If the hole is not big enough to fit the straw through, use scissors to snip two small slits at each side of the circle.
