Craft Stick Spring Birds
Ah spring! As the flowers begin to bloom and the birds begin to sing, the muddy landscape soon turns into an explosion of color! To celebrate all these fabulous colors, make some pretty spring birds from feathers and craft sticks. Your kids will love making these pretty birds and can put on a puppet show when they are all done!
For each bird you will need:
Jumbo craft stick
Colorful craft paint
Feathers
Googly eyes
Orange construction paper
Tools: White craft glue, scissors
Begin by painting the craft sticks whatever color you like. I like to match my paint colors with the feathers that I use, but there’s no rule that says you have to!
Look through your feathers and find some really fluffy ones for the tops of your birds’ heads. Trim with scissors if needed and glue to the back of the craft stick so that the fluffy feathers stick out over the top.
Turn the craft stick face up and apply glue to the front of the stick. Attach feathers along the body and out to the sides for wings.
Finally, add the googly eyes with glue and cut a simple beak out from orange construction paper then glue it on as well.
