Food Art: Daylight Savings
The clocks are springing ahead in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, March 9th. We may be losing an hour of sleep, but it means that we are one step closer to Spring! Have your kids join in on the fun by preparing them a daylight savings time breakfast full of their favorite foods.
What You’ll Need
Ingredients:
1 half of a bagel
1 tbsp. of cream cheese
1 baby carrot
1 slice of naval orange
A handful of Honey Kix cereal
Tools:
A kitchen knife (please supervise children if allowing them to slice)
How To Make It
1. Toast your bagel and place your toasted bagel on a plate.
2. Place your slice of naval orange on the plate, to the upper right of the bagel. Slice your carrot into thin strips (reserving 2), and place these strips around your orange slice for the sun.
3. Spread some cream cheese on your bagel.
4. Place your Honey Kix cereal around the bagel to appear as a clock. Place one piece of Honey Kix cereal in the middle and take your 2 remaining slices of carrot and place them on the bagel for clock arms.

Before she had kids, Jill couldn’t cook much of anything except toast and cereal, and really despised being in the kitchen.
