Food Art: Mardi Gras Crown
Mardi Gras is on March 4, and it’s a great day to celebrate and party! You don’t have to live in New Orleans to join in on the fun either. Your kids will love making this easy crown-shaped snack with you while you teach them about this festive celebration.
What You’ll Need
Ingredients:
1 large slice of fresh pineapple
A few red grapes
A handful of Berry Berry Kix cereal
Tools:
A kitchen knife (please supervise children if allowing them to slice)
How To Make It
1. Using your knife, slice your piece of fresh pineapple into a crown shape and place it on a plate.
2. Place a piece of Kix cereal on the top of each peak of the crown.
3. Slice your red grapes in half and place them at the bottom of the crown for jewels.

Before she had kids, Jill couldn’t cook much of anything except toast and cereal, and really despised being in the kitchen. People who know her personally find it extremely humorous that she is now the self-proclaimed “Queen of fun food.” Jill blogs at Meet the Dubiens, where she shares lots of fun foods and crafts for kids.
