Kix Cereal Box Conversation Hearts
Conversation hearts have been a part of Valentine’s Day since the early 1900’s. In fact, they are so commonplace now that Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be the same without them! These easy conversation hearts make fun Valentine cards and are great for both boys and girls.
These make great homemade classroom cards because they can be personalized to each individual classmate. Perfect for family too, with phrases like “kiss me” and “I love u”!
To make these Cereal Box Conversation Hearts you will need:
Recycled cereal box
Card stock or construction paper in solid colors
Glue stick
Scissors
White paint pen
Lined paper
Fold a piece of paper in half and cut out a simple heart to use as a template.
Trace your heart template onto the cereal box.
Cover the printed side of the cereal box heart with glue stick and press down onto the colored paper. Repeat this step for all the hearts you want to make.
Cut the excess paper off around the hearts.
Use your heart-shaped template to cut hearts from lined paper. Turn the cereal box hearts over and use a glue stick to attach the lined paper hearts to the back.
Once the glue has dried completely, children can write messages on the lined paper side of the hearts and use a white paint pen to add conversation phrases to the color side!
