DIY Game Day Team Color Pom Poms

kix game day pom pom kids craft

Kids want to get involved with cheering for the home team on game day just as much as the adults do! Use this fun tutorial to make pom poms in your team’s colors so the kids can cheer right along side everyone else.

You’ll just need some felt or fleece, scissors and string. Take a length of the felt and fold it in half with the open part pointing towards you. The size doesn’t matter much since nothing is exact in this project.

Cut strips starting on the open end and cut up until 1/4″ to 1/2″ to the folded end without cutting through.

Open up the piece and lay it flat.

Add as many colors/layers as you like. This one has 4 layers 2  blue and 2 orange. Next, stack on top of each other.

Starting from one of the sides roll the layers tightly while keeping the solid (non cut) portion together.

Once rolled, tie a piece of string or yarn tightly around the middle to hold the entire thing together.

Knot the string well and cut off the excess.

Fluff up the pom pom and you’re ready to cheer!
